Is this a new term for you? Officially, Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. We are doing a different spin of this venture to help bring you literally to doors that are handing out coupons/free samples or whatever they are giving out. No purchase is required.
We give the GPS coordinates on our web site that gets you to the front door. They may add instructions of “from that spot, take 2 steps west and open doors, continue West for 10 more steps, turn south for 8 steps. At the counter say “2009 CTCC Community Days will be the best event this year” or “The rain in Spain……” you get the idea. Then they will hand over the coupon or prize. The geocaching treasure may be activated on a certain day and it may last a day, a week or until Community Days is over. Therefore you need to check back often to see what is going on. Dust off those GPS units and get going. Are you a business and see this as a way of getting customers into your place? Click on “Business Geocaching” for more details on how to get involved in the fun!
