Is this a new term for you? Officially, Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. We are doing a different spin of this venture to help bring customers literally to your door. For $100, we will sign you up for a Geocaching location. This is ideal if you want to hand out coupons or a free sample. It works like this: We will determine the GPS coordinates to your front door. You tell us where you want them to go once they arrive and what you want them to say when they arrive. This will identify them as a Geocaching client. Then, you give them the coupon/sample/whatever. An example: We give the GPS coordinates on our web site that gets the person to your front door. You may get into the spirit of the request and include instructions of “from that spot, take 2 steps west and open doors, continue west for 10 more steps, turn south for 8 steps. At the counter say “2009 CTCC Community Days will be the best event this year” or “The rain in Spain……” - you get the idea. Then you hand over the coupon or prize. We can activate it on a certain day and make it last a day, a week or until Community Days is over. The possibilities are unlimited. It can be a lot of fun and it is helping our community.
