Rules for Garby Recycled
Art Competition
The mission of the Garby Recycled Art competition is to celebrate
Cranberry Township’s success in residential waste recycling and raise funds for
a Future Cranberry Art Society.
1. Individuals and groups are eligible to enter the
competition, regardless of their residency.
2. There is an entry form and a fee of $10 per
entry to reserve your space. Make
checks payable to CTCC, 2525 Rochester Rd., Ste., 450, Cranberry Township, PA
16066.
3. Entries are to be made of materials eligible for
recycling in Cranberry Township’s Collection Connection program: metal cans,
plastic bottles and containers, paper and cardboard, clear and colored glass
bottles. Glue, tape, twine, solder
and other forms of adhesive may be used in constructing the piece.
4. Entries are to be delivered to the Cranberry
Township Municipal Center on June 20-21
5. Entries must be free-standing. CTCC reserves the right to remove any
unstable or inappropriate art work.
6. Entries will be on display in the Cranberry
Township Municipal Center through the conclusion of Community Days. Those entering may retrieve their
artwork on July 11 and 12. Those
not reclaimed by their creators will be recycled or sold.
7. Provide a card identifying the artist(s), the
materials used, and the name of the work with each piece submitted.
8. Maximum size for each entry is 6 feet tall, 5
feet wide, and 4 foot deep; these dimensions allow the winning entries to fit
into the Municipal Center hallway.
9. Entries will be determined on Friday, July 9, by
a panel of judges appointed by CTCC.
10. There will be three
cash prizes awarded: $250 for first place; $100 for second place; $50 for third
place. We hold the right to
publish articles and photos of the winners to local media, web site and
newsletters.
11. There will also be a People’s Choice Award where spectators can
cast votes with their dollars. All
proceeds will be benefit a future Cranberry Arts Society. Our goal is to
re-start the Cranberry Art Society if you are interested give a call to Lorin.
12. CTCC reserves the right to photograph all entries and to use the
images for any purpose in future promotions.
