Rules for Garby Recycled Art Competition

The mission of the Garby Recycled Art competition is to celebrate Cranberry Township’s success in residential waste recycling and raise funds for a Future Cranberry Art Society.

1.     Individuals and groups are eligible to enter the competition, regardless of their residency.

2.     There is an entry form and a fee of $10 per entry to reserve your space.  Make checks payable to CTCC, 2525 Rochester Rd., Ste., 450, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.

3.     Entries are to be made of materials eligible for recycling in Cranberry Township’s Collection Connection program: metal cans, plastic bottles and containers, paper and cardboard, clear and colored glass bottles.  Glue, tape, twine, solder and other forms of adhesive may be used in constructing the piece.

4.     Entries are to be delivered to the Cranberry Township Municipal Center on June 20-21

5.     Entries must be free-standing.  CTCC reserves the right to remove any unstable or inappropriate art work.

6.     Entries will be on display in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center through the conclusion of Community Days.  Those entering may retrieve their artwork on July 11 and 12.  Those not reclaimed by their creators will be recycled or sold.

7.     Provide a card identifying the artist(s), the materials used, and the name of the work with each piece submitted.

8.     Maximum size for each entry is 6 feet tall, 5 feet wide, and 4 foot deep; these dimensions allow the winning entries to fit into the Municipal Center hallway.

9.     Entries will be determined on Friday, July 9, by a panel of judges appointed by CTCC.

10.  There will be three cash prizes awarded: $250 for first place; $100 for second place; $50 for third place.  We hold the right to publish articles and photos of the winners to local media, web site and newsletters.

11.  There will also be a People’s Choice Award where spectators can cast votes with their dollars.  All proceeds will be benefit a future Cranberry Arts Society. Our goal is to re-start the Cranberry Art Society if you are interested give a call to Lorin.

12.  CTCC reserves the right to photograph all entries and to use the images for any purpose in future promotions.
