A 12-foot wide, 6½ foot high, two-sided electronic community information board at the corner of Routes 19 and 228, in front of the UPMC building, was formally dedicated on May 9, 2011. This was the result of a joint project of Cranberry Township, the Cranberry Township Community Chest (CTCC), the Lions Club, the Rotary Clubs, the Chamber of Commerce, and UPMC. In 2010, it was identified as the CTCC Project of the Year. It is the updated replacement for a community information sign owned by Rotary which had been taken down from its Freedom Road site in 2004 when additional right of way was required to build new turning lanes onto Route 19.
The Community Information Board will provide information to the public by allowing non-profit organizations, civic groups, and churches to promote community activities and upcoming events according to the rules and guidelines established by CTCC. We are accepting no messages until July 30, 2011. Revised to August 30, 2011 while policy is under review.
